PowerArc lights eliminate wasted light, creating brighter warning lights
As the size of emergency vehicles has increased, so has the amount of signal blockage caused by the design of the apparatus. A common example is the wasted rear warning signal from a standard lightbar on a fire engine with a raised cab roof or on the front of an ambulance. By using controlled arc elements instead of old fashioned rotators, PowerArc warning lights put the light only where it is needed.
PowerArc lights reduce the number of needed warning devices
One surface mounted corner PowerArc sweep light protects two sides of the apparatus, reducing the need for extra warning devices to comply with the requirements found in NFPA 1901. Full lower level protection around the apparatus is achieved with only four PowerArc’s, one on each corner of the apparatus. Other systems require a minimum of eight warning devices.
PowerArc’s don’t just comply, they exceed the lighting requirements
A PowerArc system exceeds all of the photometric requirements found in NFPA 1901, ASTM F 2020-00, SAE J2498 and KKK-A1822-E, and the data is published.
PowerArc oscillating lights create better intersection protection
Through oscillation, each PowerArc lower level corner light and lightbar element provides strong energy signals at the 45 degree points.
PowerArc LED’s provide more light with fewer LED’s
PowerArc LED’s are flashed through mechanical movement and stay on all the time, maximizing performance. LED’s flashed electronically must be turned off for a period of time, reducing performance. Six oscillating LED’s do the work of eight to twelve electronically flashed LED’s of equal energy.
PowerArc LED’s produce brighter light throughout the coverage area
LED’s are typically bright to the front but weak to the sides. Stationary LED’s must use spreader optics (typically 45 to 90 degrees) to increase the coverage. However, this reduces the intensity of the light. PowerArc oscillating LED’s permit the use of tightly focused optics (10 degrees) to create a concentrated beam of light that maintains maximum intensity at every point throughout the desired coverage area.
PowerArc LED’s have less thermal degradation
Flashing LED’s with electronics forces the LED’s to turn on and off. This action causes an inrush of electricity to the LED’s every time they operate, reducing the life and performance of the device. Oscillating devices allow the LED’s to be operated at a constant current, without harsh current spikes, improving performance and longevity.
PowerArc lights are engineered to last for the life of the apparatus
PowerArc lightbars are constructed on massive aluminum frames. The surface mounted devices are built on zinc die cast, triple chrome plated back plates. All lamps are standard, bayonet base halogens. The element base plate, motor bracket, and helical drive belt system are all stainless steel. The bearings are sintered bronze lubricated to operate in temperatures from -40 to 400 F. The reflectors are individually formed from sheet aluminum, vacuum metalized, and then hand focused once assembled. Each element is individually powered and can be easily removed for repair or replacement. PowerArc warning lights are truly designed to withstand the rigorous demands of the emergency services. All PowerArc products come with a standard 2 year limited warranty.
PowerArc Products are designed with serviceability in mind
All PowerArc halogen products have a 2 year warranty and all LED products have a 5 year warranty. Warranties start after the apparatus is placed in service. Field diagnostics are made easy with removable elements incorporating simple mechanical parts and very basic electronics. The end user can field replace any individual lens, bulb, LED, optic, or the entire element.
PowerArc Surface devices have direct interchangeability
PowerArc surface mounted halogen and LED devices are interchangeable and can be field retrofitted in less than 5 minutes. The casework and mounting are the same.
